Greensboro’s Most Hated Man
At one time, I aspired to that appellation, but The Evil Dr. Guarino, bigot, racist, misogynist, religious fanatic, narcissist, sociopath and all-around lunatic, has surpassed my efforts in diabolical fashion. His latest stunt regarding the marital status of a local politician is unbelievably despicable.
The hatred his antics have engendered are unprecedented. Last week, an irate commenter left the name of his employer on this blog. It was up for a couple of hours before I got home from work and took it down. I reminded the poster that when fighting the monster it is important not to become the monster. In that regard, I’ve gone as far as I am willing to go. Even my attempt at an exorcism of Satan from his soul failed.
I’m perfectly willing to mock Joey G. as frequently as he deserves it, but I’m done offering narcissistic supply. I’ve even impugned his church on several occasions in attempts to reign in his behavior. But just as with his evil minions, the social retards and short bus bloggers, he is incorrigible. For me, being beyond redemption lands these characters in a place unsuitable for mockery. They are instead to be pitied.
And so I hereby relinquish my desire to make fun at Joe Guarino’s expense. From this moment on, I relegate him and his kind to the oblivion of ignorance, never to be mentioned again. Someday, I am certain to hear that fate has met them singularly and with great justice, but I will have no hand in it, for I am done.
Where’s the fun in that?
Quitter…
I absolutely understand the need to expend your energies in more productive way. You simply can’t get through to some people. No one can.
“Never waste time on people whose minds you cannot change. Move on to people who you can convince.” I learned that from Burckley.
oh but Fec….. where are we going to find eloquent satire on the blogasphere from here on out?
Thanks, but I have no intention of ending what I’ve begun. I’m merely changing subjects.
