It was N&R commenter, GCSParent55, who did the math and determined that Greensboro city councilwoman and District 27 NC Senate candidate, Trudy Wade, lied about the reason for her inaccurate attack ad concerning opponent, Justin Conrad. Based on that comment, the N&R contacted Wade and received no response. We are still waiting on the N&R to print Wade’s lie.
Last week, the N&R posted Justin Conrad’s campaign finance report.

Excuse me! Trudy left the Republican Party in the early nineties to become a Democrat because the Republicans were “too extreme” to the right. Trudy gave money to Mel Watt. Trudy ran for County Commissioner twice as a Democrat (supporting unions?) and lost. Trudy has a picture and quote of Ronald Reagan on her FB page. Never mind that he was still alive when she abandoned the Republican Party. You’ve got a lot of nerve and very little knowledge. Let’s wait and see once Trudy files her report if there are any Democrats giving her money. These folks have to represent all of their potential constituents should they be elected.
Additionally, Conrad’s treasurer comments several times, establishing the transparency we love from a campaign.
At the last minute, the N&R has Wade’s campaign finance report:
More than one-fifth of her contributions have come from individuals associated with D.H. Griffin companies.

Doug, I don’t see any accounting for any payments made to any winners of the two raffles that she held. Pretty sure that has to be reported. What say you?
This is no surprise, as DH Griffin has been leading Wade around by the nose for years. She orchestrated a coup d’etat of the previous city council in their unsuccessful attempt to reopen the White Street Landfill on behalf of DH Griffin, which ended with all the conservatives but her being voted off council.
What we have here is a thoroughly corrupt politician seeking higher office. Fortunately, Justin Conrad is a well-known individual with a rich history of community involvement. A vote against Trudy Wade is also a vote against DH Griffin, a family of proven racists who have bought a candidate for NC Senate. This is not so much a case of throwing the bums out as not allowing them greater access.
