Lex on Chick-fil-A and Wendy’s

August 1, 2012

Lest one requires more proof Lex Alexander is the brightest fucker in our firmament:

Well, these are people who need to feel persecuted so as to feel right with the Lord, and if they’re not actually being persecuted, which most aren’t, they’ll provoke something to give them a pretext for claiming they are. Clinically, I suspect that they are, in a very twisted sense, treating others as they think they deserve to be treated, because it takes a fairly low level of self-esteem to be able to feel better by making others who don’t deserve it feel worse.

Nah, I’m still dumb. Anyone who spent any time around both religious fundamentalists and mental-health professionals has probably already concluded the same thing.

Which is not to say I won’t be using “the brightest fucker in our firmament” as a dust-jacket blurb if I ever publish a book.

Good description on a particular dynamic in the playbook of the Ego:

Ego is generated when the spirit/consciousness having the apparently physical human experience is ignorant of its true identity and purpose, and is of lower quality (has much to learn, understand and needs to evolve) — it thus expresses fear, needs, wants, demands, expectations, desire, greed, in its attachment to, and manipulation of, the virtual physical reality. Ego is the sense of I manipulating the virtual physical reality to assuage its fear, and to secure and maintain its wants, needs, and desires — it gives the physical more importance and exclusivity than it is due. Ego drives the action, when fear is the motivator. Ego and fear are the antithesis of compassion and love. Ego is the consciousness lost in a virtual physical reality manipulating the 10,000 things in a way to make itself feel better (less fearful)
